When working with first responders and public safety personnel, I bring both my professional training and personal experience into the conversation in order to create a safe and supportive environment where it is okay to talk about the things that may be impacting you on the job, at home, or both.
In addition to being a Marriage and Family Therapist, I am also a First Responder & Public Safety Certified Clinician, trained in Psychological First Aid, serve as a volunteer Fire Support Specialist for a local Fire-Rescue Dept. and regularly lean into my lifelong personal experience and connection to this field as a means to help you reach your goals.
What I can help you with:
Support for first responders and their families to help them understand and cope with the unique stressors of the job
Provide education on recognizing signs and symptoms of mental health issues and promote mental wellness
Offer support and strategies to prevent suicide among first responders
Ensure privacy and confidential services to encourage first responders to reach out without fear of stigma
Provide guidance on maintaining a healthy balance between work and personal life to minimize or prevent burnout
Build resiliency and coping strategies to handle the demands of the job
Therapy to deal with anxiety, depression, & acute stress as a result of exposure to traumatic events
